DEMANDS.
PEKING, Aug. 9. A Note regarding the Lincheng affair was presented at noon to-day at the Walchaopu (Chinese Foreign Office) by Senhor I. Batalha de Freitas (Minister Plenipotentiary for Portugal).
It notifies the Chinese Govern- ment of the decisions reached ron- cerning..

week.
Third.-Compensation to cover reimbursement of the amounts ex- pended in supplying relief to prisoners.
The Diplomatic Body also endorse the demands presented, or to be presented separately by the several Legations, for damages suffered by the foreign prisoners of the Brigands in Hanan, from June to December of last year: thereby that the Diplomatic indicating Body have been notified of these demands and approve of them in principle,

As the revolutionary efforts of the Babbar Akalis in the Jullunder and
Hoshiarpur districts have assumed grave proportions, troops are being despatched to the affect- ed area. The leaders have decid-. ed to launch a murder campaign, in order to intimidate those loyal to the Government.
