CHANGE OF POLICY.
LONDON, July, 24.
In the House of Commons, replying to criticisms, Sir L. Worthington Evans said in one sepse there fad been a reversal of the Government's wireless polley, but the change was not so great as suggested. It was originally intended that the Government alone should deal with Empire wireless matters at this end, but it was thought at the time that the Dominiou government would also establish their own stations. Australia and South Africa had not followed that course. When the Dominion governments changed their policy, the British Government had to follow suit. It was for Australia and South Africa to do as Britain was doing to prevent the creation of a mono- poly by maintaining control.
Replying to an inquiry, Sir L Worthington Evans said the duration of the proposed contract with the Marconi Company would be 25 years, sub- Ject to powers of expropriatîba.
The Post Office vote was agreed to.
