Sarraus pald a tribute to Mr. Hughes, America's Secretary of State, and the loyal spirit of the American Jation, He also paid a tribute to Japan, adding the indos China had no need to fear attack from Japan,
Replying to questions, he said the Fre-ich-de- legation had at first urged the inclusion of Indo- China in the scope of the treaty, but that would have brought up problems in Manchuria, and Korea, with consequent difficulties.
The two nine-Power treaties relating to China have not yet been reported upon by the Foreign Affairs Committee and will presumably be dis cussed at the autumn sessión.
