Babies are built!
IF
Baby's body be built by food and by food alone. The child can only get out of its food what that fobd contains. the food is ill-balanced the child's growth will be ill-balanced.. If it lacks certain vital elements the body will be lacking in those vital elements that maintains health and strength.
In Viral, mothers have a p eparation that is of inimense value because it supplies what is so often lacking in the diet of young children. Virol is rich in all the elements necessary to build the body, and contains those vital principles that cuable the system to transform food into living tissue.
Wonderful results have followed the use of Virol for delicate and wasted children, so that more than 3,000m Infant Clinics and Hospitals are now regularly using it.
"
Try Virol yourself, and give it to your lule one.

TOKYO, June 30th. The Russo-Japanese conversa- tion, which took place yesterday, took up the question of the future Northern Saghalien and its possi- ble purchase by Japan, which, if accomplished, would, so it is believed, virtually dispose of the Nipolajevsk issue. No, decision was reached and the 'discussion will be resumed to iorrow, "

RUSSIAN REFUGEES QUARREL,
SHANGHAI, June 30, The steamer "El Dorado, with 700 Russian refuges aboard, has arrived from Gensan. It was held at Woosung by the Chinese Authorities.
The China Press learns from refugees that there was a binudy battle between two factions on board before leaving Gensan, General Glichoff, who was the leader of was factioh and 14 of his men were killed, while General Lieldieff, leader of the other faction, also suffered heavy casual- ties.
It is alleged that the quirrel arose. over the division of spoils from the sale of guns and ammmpition, 2
SINGAPORE NAVAL SCHEME.
LONDON, June 30. Commenting on the Singapore -naval base saliemie, the Times says
it is the business of statesmanship. to look ahead. The Cabinet, after mature consideration and acting upon the advice of the Committee of Imperial Defence, has arrived at the conclusion that the develop- ment of Singapore as a naval base is necessary. They, alone, have all the data for forming a proper judgment, and as much expert advice as they may require. The lay mind can at least understand that if it were not possible in case of a war in the East to send a fleet there, Great Britain would run the risk of losing part of her territory, or of seeing her trade ruined. and the safety of India imperilled. Singapore has a more central posi- tion than any port in Australasia, and there is no equal in the world for its potential usefulness in the matter of ship repair.
Į PROTECTING CHINA'S FOREIGNERS.
LONDON, June 29. The Daily Telegraph's diploma- tic correspondent understands that American business interests ju China, similarly with British busi- ness interests, favour strong inter- vention by the Powers, with a view to better protection of foreign- ers in China. The Washington State Department is receiving an increasing number of appeals and representations to this effect.
