Montreal cold storage plant.

The Harbour Commissioner of the Port of Montreal, Canada, have just completed this $2,500,000 cold storage warehouse. It contains 4,500,000 cubic feet of storage capcity and is one of the largest plants of its kind in the world.

The official cases reported recently of the use of adrenalin in restoring heart to persons supposedly dead has attracted widespread attention from the medical profession. Officials of the Tri-State Medical Association, made up of 30,000 physicians are paying especial, attention to the injection of adrenalin into the muscles of the heart to restore life and toprolong it.

The National Foreign Trade Council held its annual meeting recently. The Chairman of the Council is James A. Farrell, of whose. slogan is "Greater Prosperity Through Greater Foreign Trade." O. K. Davis is Secretary of the Council.

Mrs. Joseph Boyer and her four children, the eldest 11 and the youngest less than a year old, have been ejected from the Indian re- servation in Canada, because the mother had married a white man 25 years ago. The woman, an Indian herself, speaks either English nor French and has been left penniless in Montreal. The ruling from Ottawa has stirred fear and indignation and is thought to be the first of many cases in which the Goveräiment intends to remove Indians who have married whites.

Mount Lassen, the only active volcano in America, is in violent eruption. Settlers near the base of the mountain are reported to be in serious danger. The last violent eruption on Mount Lassen was in 1915, when several buildings were destroyed.

The lives of eight-men and their woman cook, marooned by the fee floes on. South Fox-Island, 20 miles out in Lake Michigan, were saved when an aeroplane owned by Francis J. Parker, flew to them with foodstuffs. The fumbermen were almost without food op "Starvation Island" when Parker and Steve O'Connor, reached them. Shortly after Parker landed another plane appeared, dropping food. The rescued are shown watching the approach of the second plane. Mrs. Morro is shown cooking the first real meal the men had had for a month.

Chauncey Depew, America's youngest old man, celebrated his 80th birthday by working at his desk as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the New York Central Railroad, "How long, Mr. Depow, may we hope to have you with us?" he was asked. "Bless you," he said with a chuckle, "I don't want to set any limit. I love this old world too much to think of leaving it. 1. have just been sensible," he added. "No fads, no serum, no monkey glands and no golf."
