One of the most remarkable cases in the courts has resulted in the arrest, on the charge of murder, of Fred Miller. Driving his car at high speed. Miller ran into a group of five persons who were waiting for a car. Miss Mindred E. Holt and John P. Gasson were in stantly killed. Mrs. Gasson was hurled some distance, and her little baby, Ruth, three years old; was tor. from her arais. The ninth annual convention of the Girl Scouts was welcomed by Mrs. Calvin Coolidge, wife of the Vice-President of the United States and Honorary Commissioner of Girl Scouts.
