Bishop on Dancing.
Writing in his diocesan me guzice on bazaars and other means of raising money for church purposes, the Bishop of St. Edmundsbury and Ipswich, Dr. A.A. David, says he has forgotton how to play whist, but it was a good game. To play for prizes had no corruptive in fluence, and he did not see that whist should be discouraged. he- couse it was misused by some. The same applied to dances, and more good would be done by keeping them wholesome and safe than by ruling them out.

And I hope these few words may induce all kindly disposed sympathisers to titok and realise the tragedy of living under these terrible conditions." the Broadcasting Company. From the moment that the request to Mrs. Carr was broadcast offers of motor-cars were made until some- thing like thirty cars had been of- fered for the conveyance of Mrs. Carr to London. In the meantime, however, a Bedford "listener-in". had. got out his motor and taken Mrs. Carr to the railway station at Luton, where she caught a late train for London. Mrs. Carr arrived at the hospital just before midnight, and remained with her son to the end. He died shortly before eleven o'clock in the morning. It is un-1 derstood that Mr. Carr's illness was not considered serious when he was admitted to bospital, but com- plications developed, and his con- dition became critical.
