At the age of seventy-seven, Sir George Sherston Baker, County, Court Judge for Lincolnshire, has died at his residence, Castle Moar House, Lincoln. In the course of a brilliant legal, career he was engaged in a famous case in which two shipwrecked and starving men were charged with cannibalism the victim being a boy who escaped with them. In the ordinary way the men, would have been hanged; but Sir George Sheraton Baker, as the result of a laborious search at the British Museum, hunted up very old case bedring on the crime, and the men were sentenced to six months' imprisonment.

Seville is the smile of Spain, the most feminine of all cities. In knightly old Toledo they would have you buy a blade; in fair Seville they tempt you with a fan for a guitar.
