Notwithstanding the present depression in the shipbuilding industry, Belfast is forging ahead in the building of big ships; indeed no port in the British Isles, or, in fact, fa the world, can show a fleet of high-class passenger liners of large dimensions such as is at present in the hands of Messrs. Harland and Wolff on the river Lagan.
In the latter half of last month: this firm was to deliver from their Belfast yards upwards of fifty thousand tons of shipping, viz., the Red Star liner "Belgenland," the Holland America line "Veendam," and the Pacific Steam Navigation liner "Orova."
