GAINING GROUND, ...

PERING, April 2... It is somi-offerally stated that Goneril Shen Hung Ying has wired to General Wo Pai Fu requesting the latter to ask the Government tõ cancel his appointment as Tuli of Kwangtung.

It is reported from Szechuan that General Wu Pei Fi's supporters org still gaining ground. One brigade of Geno al Tun Mon Hein's troops was surrounded and defeat- ed, and eventually dispersed, at Chukianghaion.

One of General Liu Chén Haun's brigaden has been defeated at Ini- yang. Tho enqualties in these two brigades are reported to be 300 kill. ed and 1,000 wounded.

Jater report says that the de feated generals sent reinforcements, and re-established their fronts.

WIRELESS WORLD CHAIN.

LONDON, April tat, Mr. Godfrey C. Igatus (Managing- Director of Marconi's Wireless Telegraph Co., Ltd.) alatod that he is only awaiting the issue of a licence by the Government to begin immediately the erection, in England, of the first of a series of powerful Marconi transmitting stations, a world chain for purposes of forming & wor rapid commercial wireless.

The telegraph station will really be a group of six stations, involving a capital- expenditure of from two to three million sterling. Each of the six stations will be able to communicato simultaneously with six different parts of the world. Yet, i

Mr and Mrs P. 8. there is a rush of messages to any one entre, any or all the remaining stations can be turned on to roliove the pressure. This is expected to be most valuable com mercially, as the geographical distribution of the big centres will be such that their rush hours will not occur simultaneously The Six Alations, it is stimated, will have a total minimu tranemitting capacity
