LONDON, March 28, The question of the readjustment of the Bay of the mercantile marine was settled at a meeting of the National Maritime Board in London attended by representatives of the chief shipping interests and seafarers' unions. It was agreed that from April 16, the basic rate of wages for seamen, fire- men and the catering departments should be reduc- ed by a pound a month. It was also agreed that the scales of pay of navigating and engineering officers be revised from the same date.
