RUSSIAN NOBLE'S DEATH.

Prince Boris Shahovskoi, a de- scendant of the old Rurik family of Russia, who has been living in Shanghai for the past two and a half years, died at the General Hospital following an operation. He was 45 years old.
An accomplished jurist, he spoke seven languages, and at the time of his death was in the employ of the British American Tobacco Co.

Mr. T.-H. R. Shaw, of Messrs. Butterfield and Swire, returned to Shanghai by the "President Cleveland" after a year's leave at Home.
