A serious anti-Japanese distur bance is reported from Tsingtao. It appears that on Sunday list a Ninese. ex-brigand who is now a gendarme, while at a Japanese auction sale was accused of pocket. picking. While a Japanese police surgeant and the Chinese police were discussing the case, thirty ex- beiganda-who have recently been rolled in the gendarmerie-droye up in two cars to assist their com nie. They destroyed the furniture and, after severely handling several Japanese, bailed them off to the Police Station..........
The Japanese were afterwardi densed, but, four of them, includī- ing the sergeant, had been some. wat seriously injured, and were rooved to the hospital. The Japanese community are most in dignant regarding the outrage and are holding demonstrations and protesting to their. Consul.'
