BONAR LAW PREMIER.
BONAR LAY'S FIRST PROBLEM.
LONDON, October 23. Liberale and Labourites are agitated over the question of a Saturday polling day. They declare that if rumours of a mid week date being chosen are con fired Mr. Bonar Law will make his first mistake in the promiership by antagonising the workers. On the other hand, it is pointed out that the date depends on the proclamation of dissolution, as nominations are not counting Sundays. Mr. Bonar Law is not likely to com- plete the formalities necessary to unsure the proclama- tion to-day, which will mean pelling on November 11, and if he postponed the proclamation until October 30 in order to ensure polling on October 18 the delay would imperil the prospects of ratification of the Irish.com. stitution.
CHAMBERLAIN STATES HIS POSITION.
Lospos, October 24. Mr. Austin Chamberlain defined his and his followers' position at a winner for former Coalition ministers and supporters at the Hotel Victoria. "We are members of the Unionist and Conservative party In the course of his speech, Mr. Bonar Law hoped which we served faithfully and we intend to remain that now the party's confidence had been given to him members thereof. STIFF TUSSLE COMING. Continuing Mr. Bonar Law said the Irish constitu ¿tion must be given effect.
Referring to Mr. Lloyd George, he said it was sure they would have a pretty stiff tussle but he hoped they would still remain good friends afterwards,
Mr. Bonar Law declared he would open his cam- paiga and submit a definite policy on Thursday.
The meeting unanimously passed a votoɔl thanks to Mr. Austen Chamber-lain for his services,

Mr. Bonar Law was loudly cheared by the crowd outside the meating place, likewise by the assembly which comprised 139 members, including 102 perre and 67 parliamentary candidates.
Sir George Younger presided.
The election of Mr. Dosar Law was proposed by Lard Carson and seconded by Mr. Stanley Baldwin.
Mr. Bonar Law did not defiao his policy, intimating

"REVENUE'S SERIOUS DECLINE.
LONDON, October 23: The report of the British North Borneo Company for 1921 gives the total receipta as £404,000 and the expenditure as £253,000. There is a surplus of £147,000 compared with £225,000 in 1920. The dividend is 3 por cant.
The serious decline in the net revenue compared with 1920 is due to the fact that there is little sign of a revival in that part of the Eastern hemisphere, including Malaya, China, the Dutch Indies and Borneo. In view of the necessity for continued assistaues of subsidiary
