A crowd gathered early in the neighbourhood of the Carlton Club to witness the arrival of the delegates to the momentous Unionist conference, which is to decide the fate of the Coalition.

LLOYD GEORGE'S CAREER.
(The Rt. Hon. David Lloyd George, O M., P.C., D. C. L. (Hon), Oxon, LL. D. Wales, Hon. L.L D. Edin.. Hon LL. D. Shefield. has been Prime Minister and First Lord of the Treasury since 1916. Born at Manchester in 1863, the son of the late William George, master of Hope Street Unitarian Schools. Liverpool, Mr. Lloyd George was educated at Llangstymdwy Church School and privately. Becoming a solicitor in 1884 he entered politics six years later as Liberal M. P.

BONAR LAW'S ACTIVE LIFE."
(The Rt. Hon. Andrew Bonar Law, P.C., LLD. Glas, has been Coalition Unionist M, P. for the Central Division of Glasgow since December of 1918. Born at New Brunswick on September, 16, 1808, he was educated at the Gilbertfield Bobool, Hamilton and the High' School, Glasgow. He entered politics in 1900 as Unionist Member for the Blackfriars Division of Glasgow, and in 1902 he was appointed Parliamentary Secretary of the Board of Trade. This post he held until 1906 when he was returned as Unionist M. P. for the Dulwich Division of Camberwell. In 1910 he contested Manchester, N, W., and in 1911 the Bootle Division of Laricabite. From 1911 to 1915, Mr. Boner Law was Leader of the Opposition in the House of Commons; rom 1918 to 1918 Secretary of State for the Colouies; from 1816 to 1918 Chancellor of the chequer; and from 1919 to 1921 Lord Privy Seal This feat post, he resigned in 1921 Mr. E. G. Pretyman moved a resolution expressing together with that of Leader of the Unionist Party since the opinion that Conservatives were willing to co-operate 1911 and that of Leader of the House of Commone since with Coalition Liberale but should fight the election 1916. Mr Bouar Law was member of the war Cabinet from 1918 to 1919. He first made his name in the tariff independently with their own leader and programma,
