The greatest cockfight in history, which almost resulted in the mutual extermination achieved by the Kil- kenny cats, was fought recently at Springfield, Massachusetts.

With no cheering crowd to encour sge them and inspired only by their own passion for combat, 60 gamecocks battled to death all through the dark hours till exhaustion put an end to the slaughter..
