OBITUARY.

MR. W, C., D. TURNER.

The late Mr. W. C. D. Turner, whose death we briefly reported in our Saturday's issue, had bran connected with the Hongkong and Shanghai Bank since 1899 when he was posted to the Bank's Singapore Office. From 1902 to 1913 with the head office in Hongkong and alter that he filled responsible positions the Bank's service at Canton, Shanghal and Saigon. He was sent to Amoy last March.

For nearly twenty years the late [Mr. Turner had been a well-known and s. popular figure in interport cricketing circles. On many occasions he bad captained the Hongkong team and had vary materially helped it to victory. He was a son of Major Tur- ner, who went to Shanghai with the Hongkong team in 1892 and, with eight other members of the test, was drowned while returning aboard the Il-fated "Bakbara”.
