CALCUTTA, April 4,

A mail train from Calcutta to Punjab was derailed near Madhopur on the East Indian Bailway. An engine and six carriage which returned were smashed to pieces at the bottom of a 50-foot-embankment.

The remaining three carriages were derailed. The enginemen, a postal employee and two Indian passengers are known to have been killed. Several European and many Indian passengers have been seriously injured.
