AN INDIAN ARCEL.
THE QUAINTS.
MERRY EVENING AT THE THEATRE ROYAL
4
The Quints are here again ! “Yes i¦ I think so!"as Salisbury phrased it last night in his inimitable caricature of the Vicar at the Village concert." and mazy will know to before the short seatna promised by this small band of artists is finished. There is nothing quite like the Quaints form
of entertainment. The things they do and the songs they sing,. the "business" generally, seem to he in a class by themselves. Lari night's programme-and be it brown there is to be a change nightly-opened with The Pedlar of Dreams, & conception that bad about it all the elements of peesy, that contained not a few truths, and abounded in fire singing and.
A ravel feature of thestreet decor-humont of a very high arder. Miss aljons in connection with the Prince's Mavis French's song, "Will O' the visit will be the big triumphal arch Wisp" will act soon be forgotten, which is bong encted near the City or will Guy Fane's nonsense song Tiilies Hal by the Indian and Parsee com "Down where the water
to the King of singers of songs with a chores, with a diverting description of
ities. It will be embolical of grow". Miss Dorthy James at the India architecture, will be supiano was warmly welcomed whilst mented by a huge deme and will R. B. Salisbury proved his title bave an elephant at rach corner. At risht it will be illuminated with 000 red lanterna nad 2,000 rel and white electric light bulbs. It was hoped to have erected two arches but in view of the pressure, under which the electrical people are working it was decided to have oze combined arch representing the two communities whes: businessmen bave between them subsorbed $4,000 towards its cost.

Wicky Walla, where "there ain't no trouble and there ain't no strikes." A burlesque of a Village concert was simply a scream from beginning to end. Salisbury as the Vicar, Guy Fane as the Vicar's wife, Hagh Bayly as Mrs. St Patrick's Camel. Jessic Hitter as the Lady Ima Singer, with the others as the Village Choir, made fun fast and furious. There were other good things and the curtain fell at since hour on a spontaneens and thunderous note of applause.
