BRITAIN'S OVLY OIL WELL
LONDON, March 6. In the House of Commons, in answer to questions, Mr. Bridgeman said that the only oil producing well in Britain at present was at Hardstoft. The production for the sixth months anding December 31 was 78 tons. No oil had been sold since October last as it was difficult to dispose of small quantities of crude oil. Hitherto the evidence had been insufficient to form an opinion with reguate the commercial prospects of oil-boring in Britain,
TREASURY BOND ISSUES.
LONDON. March 6.
In the Bouse of Commons, Sir Robert Horue announced that it was not intended to resume the issue of Treasury bonds, at a fixed price but it was proposed from March 17 to invite tenders for five per cent treasury bands repayable on February 1, 1927.

died, namely Mr. S. Chilvers, police inspecte. who joined the force 33 years ag- and had for ten years past been in the revenue department; Mr. Charles McWilliams, well-known in shipping circles in China, Japan and Manila; Mrs Peter Marshall, who was a victim of scarlet fever to which her busband and the manager of the Eastern Telegraphs succumbed a few weeks ago.
