Six months' jail and twelve strokes was the sentence passed this morning on a 16-year old Chinese boy convicted of having stolen a gold ear pick from woman in Hollywood Road yester day. The boy said that he had accidentally knocked the pick out of the woman's hair as he passed her, but the Magistrate said this excuse failed to explain the finding of the pick a hundred yards away.
