SEAMEN'S STRIKE.

THE POSITION TO-DAY.

HOPES OF RESUMPTION.

DECISION LIES WITH MEN AT CANTON.

It is too soon you to say definitely that the strike of Chinese sermon is settled. There are high hopes that work will be resumed on Monday but it all depends upon what the seamen who have gone to Canton and who form a big inajority of the strikers have to say about the proclamation that was issued yesterday afternoon by the Secretary for Chuese Affairs (the Hon. Mr. E. R. Hallifax]

A tracalation of the proclamation follows:-
