Four chukkas were played, and the match was keenly contested through- out, and although the Army won by four goals to one, the result did not give an accurate indication of the standard of play. Individually, there was little to choose between the players of either side, but the Army IV showed more knowledge of each other's play, and good combination carried them through to victory. They were also better mounted. On the play, the Club IV did not deserve to lose en heavily, and they had very hard luck in not scoring oftener. Of course, credit must not be denied to Major Timmis, who, at back, was safe and contributed much towards the Civiljans' failure.
