The Victoria British School's prize giving took place this morning. The awards were handed to the children by Mra. Cloud S.vèrn. There were also present at the function, the Director of Education (Hon. Mr. E.A. Irving), the Inspector of Schools (Mr. E. Ralphs) and Mr. A. F. B.. Silva Netto.

READ MISTRESS'S REPORT. The Report of the Headmistress for the year ending December, 1921 stated:--

Stoff-The staff at the beginning of the year consisted of Mrs. E. M. Clark, Mrs. Floyd Mrs. Shaftain and Mrs. Bowers. In February Mrs. Brawn was transferred from Kowloon British School. In Murch Mrs. Bowers left for Wanchai School and Mrs. Floyd resigne in order to proceed to England. Mrs. Ford filled the Vacancy caused by Mrs. Floyd's resignation. In April Mrs. Wilson was appointed to the staff and remained until the summer holidays. when a reduction of staff was neces sary owing to the very small number attending the school 37. Health.--Dr.
Valentine's report stated that "The general health was good. The teeth of a few children needed attention. The eyesight of the children was exceptionally good." Work. The work, generally, is satisfactory, especially of those who have attended the school a whole
year.
Geography is still very weak. Composition and spelling show great improvement since the girls have read wore at home. Arithmetic has improved a little. A fairly satisfactory standard has been maintained in all the other subjects. Those pupils who failed in certain subjects in the Annual Examinations were mainly those who had been admitted since the summer holidays.
The Homework has been much satisfactorily done and there has been a marked improvement as regarde antness,

Tight pupils were presented for the 1st. Division of the Royal Drawing Society's Examination and passed.

Miss Macdonald has visited the school for Swedish Drill and Games. Madams Momssion has given instruction in French since the summer holidays. These lessons are greatly appreciated by the children, especially the Infants Class,"
