chosen as pilot during the trials with flight by aeroplane across the Atlantic the secret Helicopter which has been in June 1919 by Sir Arthur Whitten produced at Aldershot.

Brown and the late Sir John Alcock, and who were awarded the Daily Mail £10,000 prize, was unveiled in Manchester Town Hall.

The choice is generally approved, no other airman having laced greater

adventures. For some time he has been engaged in trial flights of big sir express machines. He has wonderful- ly sensitive hands comparable only with Hawker's, while he also possesses skill, experience and during, all of

which are necessary.

The Helicopter is a closed book and an utter mystery. It is impossi ble to tell how it will behave when It the direction of flight is changed. Courtney is successful it will in- augurate a completely fresh phase in the development of flight und will be an achievement comparable with that of the Wright brothers' first flight or of l'egoud's first loopi, Origin of Life.
