Armistice Day was commemorated in Hongkong this morning, as it will be in every other part of the Empire, with an impressive church service and the observance of two minutes silence at 11 am 28 8 solemn salute to the memory of the Glorious Dead.
The service at St John's Cathedral was due to begin at 10.40 but the church was crowded long before that hour. His Excellency the Governor and the Colonial Secretary were pre sent and there were numbers of uni- formed sailors and soldiers as well as ex servicemen for whom seats had been specially reserved.

Interesting information about our bathing braches is furnished in a set of returns just issued by the Colonial Secretariat. They show that during last season Kennedy Town had got the most patronage, 53,659 people bathing there as against North Point's
19,530 and 3,875 and Stonecutters.
The two beaches last mentioned were, of course, not available until the
season was well advanced.
