SAN FRANCISCo, September 14, National interest in the case of Arbuckle in unabated. The papers are printing columns daily. Giving evidence at the inquest, Mrs. Belmont, a friend of Miss Rappe, showed that liquor flowed freely at the fatal party, some of the members of which were undoubtedly drunk. Mrs. Belmont stated that Miss Ruppe did not object when Arbuckle entered the bedroom with her. A nurse gave evidence that Miss Rappe sold her there had been intimacy between her and Arbuckle. Arbuckle's wife from whom he is separated, is going to San Francisco to support her hus band. She declares that "fatty" is just a great, big, lovable, overgrown boy, whose success has been a little too much for him." She is convinced that he is not guilty of the hideous charge.
