NEW MINISTRY.
LONDON, May II.
The German cabinet crisis has been settled A Berlin message reports the opening of the Reichstag. The centrist ex-Minister of Finance, Herr Wirth, has announced the formation of a cabinet in which be will be char ceffor and foreign minister, and the former Chancellor Herr Bauer will be vice chancellor and minister of the treasury, Harr Robert Schmide minister of labour, and Herr Gesaler minister of defence. The finance minister has cot yet been appointed. The Cabinet includes four centrists, four majority socialists, and three democrats. The latter are only provisional as they do not wish to join an administration in which the People's Party

THE NEW CHANCELLOR.
LONDON, May 11

He is a leading member of the centre party and inclines to the left wing. He has streng democratic tendencies.

The Magistrate: Has he no re Iatives?
-Inspector Brown: His mother is dead, and his father is in America.
A Chinese woman who was present in Court told the Hagistrate in English that the defendant had relatives in Sunning. She was his guardian” and recommended him to Mrs. Tidbury. The defendant had not been in the habit of stealing when he had lived with her.
