GERMAN COMMUNIST OUTBELAKS,

EISLEBEN IN THE HANDS OF THE REBELS,

LONDON, March 25. Authoritative quarters in London regard the communist outbreaks in Germany with no apprehension. They are all apparently sporadic and not serions. LONDON, March 24. 2: An attempted repetition of the storming of the Bastille on a somewhat naller scale pocurred in Cork last night just before the Curfew hour. In crowded streets the Southern Battalion of the Republican Army, which pro ceeded to develop an elaborately worked out scheme, formed a cordon round the prison, dismantled the telegraphs and telephones, and imperiously.com- mended the terrified people in the vicinity to lie down motionless in the rets. It then threw rope ladders over the walls to which the prisoners, in- ading those condemned to death, should by prearrangement have rashed, but the interior patrol arrangements prevented the materialisation of the cheme and the Republicans speedily decamped

LEAGUE FOOTBALL

1ST DIVISION CLOSE MONDAY.

The closing game of the season`in connection with the first division an the Hongkong Football League will be played on the Club ground on Easter Monday when the Wilts, the winners of the league, will play an exhibition game against an X chosen from the rest of the league, prior to the presentation of the Cup and gold medals to the winners by Mr. R. E. B. Hancock, formerly Chairman of the league. The match which starts at 4.30p.m. promise to be an excellent affair in which good, first class football will be The Wilts are to be Witnessed. congratulated on their success during their first football, season in our midst. They deserve their win having had to tackle some very tough combinations on their way to the top of the league table.

2ND DIVISION FIXTURES.

The 2nd Division fixtures for to- day are as follows:

Ollers T. St. Joseph's, St. Joseph's ground, 4.30 pm.

Punjabis v. "Carlisle," Sookumpoo ground,3 p.m.

Club Kowloon, Club ground, 3 D.El.

Of these, the Oilers v. St. Joseph's match promises to be the most in- teresting. Both teams have drawn with the R.G.A. Reserves, who are at the top of the league, and a good fussle between them is assured. In à previous encounter the St. Josep- hians scored a rather "easy win. They should be able to repeat 33 they their performance, but are at present falling off form, their witnees

draw with the United last week, the result of the game is very uncertain. Much depends on the St. Jessphians wio- ning the match, for with six, matches in band they stand a chance of equalling the R.G.A's. total if they win every watch. In this event a final would be necessary and many there are who would be keen to

fact league, in vier of the that the Artimen defeated their opponents in the first encounter and then were not able to do better! occasion of the second meeting. A than play a draw with them on the draw or a loss for St. Joseph's in to day's match will make the Champion- ship Cup safe for the Artillery.

The other matches promise very: little excitement. "Carlisle," who are a very tough combmation in the league, should have no difficulty in disposing of the Punjabis, who while they are a sporting lot, still have a lot to learn in league football before they can aspire to Championship

honours.

An ever game is expected in the Kowloon Res. v. Club Res, match if the Club are able to field a strong side. The struggle should result în Kowloon just managing a win by an odd goal.
