"DEATH HOUSE."
KINEMA SHOW.
AUDIENCE EXHIND STEEL BARS,
One of the strangest kinema shows ever given was that staged in the "Death House," or condemned cells, in the famous Sing Sing prison, New York State.
It was seen by 12 men who at present form the population of the dreadful building. Oving to the small space available, the kinemato- graph was placed only 12 feet from the screen, a bed sheet.
The audience watched the films from behind the steel bars of their cells. The brief break from terrible monotony was greatly appreciated by the men, who are awaiting the electric chair- They were also allowed to have dinner to celebrate their last Christmas. -
The kinematograph used was miniature machine presented by the film actor, Mr Thomas Meighan, whe recently played the leading role in an escape scene staged in the prison..
