The exports of coal were 1,700,000 tons valued at £5,555,000, com- pared with 3,358,000 tons valced at £11,542,000 in January of 1920. The imports of sugar were 1,819,000 wts. .compared with 2,239,000 cwts in 1920. The exports of gold were £6.294,000 compared with £9,538,009 in 1920, including £5,253,000 to the United States, £794,000 to British India,

and £172,000 to Chinz,

Decreases in exports were £7,000,000 in cotton goods and £3,500,000 in woollens.
