The Letter Mail to be dispatched per "Kitano Nara" on the 19th inst, is papected to reach London on December 16th.

REGISTERED and PARCEL MAILS are closed 15 minutes earlier than the time given below unless otherwise stated, and where mails are advertised to close s or before 9 s registered and parcel mails are cloerd at 5 pm. on the previous day.

GENERAL HOLIDAY.

The General Post Office will be open on Thursday, the 11th November, from Am to 9. only.

There will be cat delivery of Ordinary and Registered Correspondence and one collection of letters from the fillar Rores.

He quotes the case of a passenger and mail steamer showing an actual loss on the round voyage from London to Bombay and back of £10,000 and gives another example of a loss of £35,000 incurred by a passenger-liner on the round trip to i Australia and back.
