The march of thousands of unemployed persons from the Embankment to Westminster led to exciting scenes in Downing Street, where 2. deputation of fifteen London mayors 'was interviewing Mr. Lloyd George with regard to memployment. A crowd of demonstrators carrying red fiags repeatedly tried to rush the police guarding No. "10. Downing Street and threw stones at the police. Reinforcements, including mounted police, were called out and charged and dispersed the crowd. A number of the police and demonstrators were injured.
