The King, in declaring the exhibi- tion open, said:
On behalf of the Queen and my self I thank you very sincerely for your loyal and dutiful Address. It gives me much pleasure to come here today to open this collection of material and records connected with the war a collection which is of such deep and lasting interest Those who conceived and carried out the scheme of this museum have earned the gratitude both of their own contemporaries and "of future generations; and cur hearty thanks
due to the Governments of the! are Allied nations and of ray Dominions Meyond the seas, and to all those societies and individuals who have cosperated in the work, and aided)
- with generous contributions.
Especially! Congratulate you and the members of the committee on the forethought and breadth of view which have been shown in. the organization of the museum. You have made it at once a storehouse of material for the Historian and scien- fific student, and an inspiration for posterity.
There is set another aspect of this museum which is perhaps unique in history it records faithfully and impartially the efforts of all ranks in the full and of all classes at home, the private as well as the Commander.
the worker in the workshop well] as the statesman in the Council Chaser.
It also recognizes in concrete form that success in modern waz is no longer the achievement of a few Teaders or of a professional class, but est of the devoted and heroic work of millions of men and women co-operating as parts of one vast living machine. None of us can forget, and this museum will ever preserve the memory in future ages, that we owe our success under God not to. the armed forces alone, but to the labours and sacrifices of soldiers and civilians, of men and women alike. It was a democratic victory, the work of a nation in arms, organized as never before for a struggle.

"A great slump in letter-writing kas marked the first week of the two-penny postage and there are" indications," says the Daily Express, that the measure that was designed to increase the revenue will defeat its ubject. Inquiries among business firms, philanthropic associations and Bailar organisations showed that far fewer letters were being received. In some
the falling off was stated to be considerable. The mortality among private letters is even more marked. Suburban villa letter boxes are still stuffed with circulara, while the post- „age' rate 'remains unaltered for them

LIES UNDER THE
GUMS.
Under the guns is the important foundation-the bony root sockels. which hold the teeth in place.
1
Healthy goins guard and preserve this foundation of your teeth. Soft, bleeding, tender or needing gums allow Pyorrhes infection to creep beneath them. If unchecked; the germs spread to the bony root- sockets, weaken and destroy them.
Then your teeth become loose and eventually fall cut, or must be extracted because Pyorrbes has esten sway their supporting founda- tion. You may have kept the risible surface of the teeth white sad. glistening by daily brushing-you may have had all cavities skilfully filled-but all that care has gone for naught because you neglected your guns.
[
Watch your game if you want to save your teeth.
Pyorrhoide Ponder was compounded for the specific purpose of maintaining and restoring gum health. In addition to its ingredients which keep the teeth white and clean, it is medicated with Dentinal, a germier I and bealing agent widely used by the dental profession in the treatment of Pyorrhea at the dentist's chair.
Pyorrhoide Powder lozes up the gume, stimulates their blood circulation, maintains hardness and firmness, thereby increasing the power to resist Farrhoes infection. Its effectiveness for this purpose has been conclusively proved by thorough tests in clinics devoted exclusively to Fyorrbes study and research. That is why dentista everywhere recommend it,
