RETURN VISIT.

Since leaving Hongkong some two months ago, when it will be re- membered the Humphrey Bishop Company played an all too brief but. highly successful season the Company have played through Japan and Shanghai and are at present playing to crowded houses in Manila.

They are due to reach Hongkong. on Thursday next on the Empress of Russia" and open their season On Friday the 25th at the Theatre- Royal where they will present a new series of vaudeville programmes, interpolated into which will be ex- cerpts from all the most popular operas.

Report speaks very highly of four new artistes who have joined the company since they were last here, particularly of the Jazz Drummer who-has-created-a-sensation-at-each- place he has appeared. The orchestra has been augmented and the Over tures are now a feature is the pro- grammes being frequently doubly and trebly encored.

REVOLVERS AGAIN.

Detective Sub-Inspector Murphy this morning charged a Chinese con- stable before Mr. N. L. Smith with the unlawful possession of a revolver and 50 rounds of revolver. `am- munition, and with misconduct as a Police Constable. The Inspector applied for a remand, saying he was not prepared to go on with the case. His Worship remanded the case for. one week, fixing bail in the sum of $500.

The revolver which was not a ser vice weapon, said the Inspector, was found on the second floor of "a house in Lower Lascar. Row, which he searched at 11 am, on Monday by virtue of a warrant, While Le (the Inspector) was engaged in searching the first floor of the house, he heard a commotion as if something heavy was being thrown. through the air shaft at the back of the house, from the second floor on to the yard below.
