The fifth annual dog. cat and poultry show, held at the Happy Valley Racecourse by courtesy of the Hongkong Jockey Club, attracted many spectators, and the Show, despite the bad weather, was the most successful yet held The Committee Mr. H. Gedge, Commander Beckwith, Mr. H. B. L. Dowbiggin, Mr. F. H. Dillon, Mr. G. W. Gegg. Mr. J. Bell Irving, Mr. P. Lander, Mr. J. F. Macarthy, Mr. J. C. Wong, Mr. J. C. Wildin, Mr. E. V. M. R. de Sousa, Mr. W.: Ward,
and Inspectors Grant Fisher, and Mr. B. L. Frost, Hon. Secretary and Treasurer, deserve great praise from the general public for the excellent results attained this year. Mr. F. J. Macarthy, was the principal judge, and his judgments were well received as being eminently fair Mr. H. B. L. Dowbiggin, in charge of prizes, Messrs. F. H. Dillon and J. C. Wildin, special stewards, and Mr. B. L. Frost, especially deserve a word of praise for their untiring work in making the exhibit a success."

The following eye-witness's account of the massacre of the Armenians at Marash and the fighting between the French troops and the Turks which preceded it has been received in Paris Honing-1. Sergt. In the class for homing pigeons the winner was a nice cobby redL. Dowbiggin. chequer, with nice depths of keel and width of fight. Thesecond bird was a nicely-shaped blue with good head. The third bird a blue chequer, a worker all over, with nice depth of keel and width of flight, but rather too week for the show pen. In the unclassified class the Dragons ware in nice condition, but failed in beaks. The under mandible requires to be thicker, to give them a box beak. The third exhibit was a nice pouter, but deficient in markings.
