According to the official returns, the number of suRerers from influenza since the middle of September last year up to February 9 of this year, roughout the country, has been 1,724,362, out of which 65,852 died;

The epidemic appeared first in Kumamoto Prefecture, and the last Prelecture to be attacked was Akita, during the middle of last December.
