The deceased Alderman MacCurtain was in his bedroom when the raiders entered and called him out to the landing. They fired two shots from a revolver, both entering his chest. According to Admiral Jellicoe's report, the British Government is prepared to present Canada with a fleet worth $16,500,000, pre-war value, comprising one light cruizer, four destroyers, eight patrols, one fatilia leader, eight submarines and four minesweepers.
