The Daily Mail correspondent at Cairo interviewed General Allenby, he said the conditions in Egypt were now renerally improving. He heped that Lord Milner's commission would indicate a solution of the problems ensuring maximum benefit to the Egyptians. He declared that the commission was prepared to hear every view most fully, and said the unrest in Egypt was a symptom of "restiveness under authority which was manifest in many parts of the world as a result of the war. L'Independanca Beige states that the Belgian colonial minister is at present in London in order to arrange the transference to Britain of the Bukoba and Ujiji provinces of German East Africa, which are to be admin- latered by Britain on behalf of the League of Nations. The Minister is also negotiating with a view to securing for Belgian subjects equally favourable rates on the railways from German East Africa as those enjoyed by British subjects.
