OTTAWA, Nov. 8... The Prince of Wales in a speech at the Canadian Club said he had been given a marvellous and most enthusiastic welcome everywhere in Canada and had received the kindest hospitality, also hundreds of kind gifts and letters, including not a few from ladies, some whereof were so charming that he would have liked to have been able to meet the writers. He thanked the Canadian government for the admirable arrangements made for his tour, and concluded by saying he was not conceited enough to regard all that great kindness and hospitality as shown to him as per sonality. He knew they came from the whole nation regardless of race or party and were given to him as the King's son and heir. He valued them especially because they expressed the same common sentiment which made Britishers stand together in war and would keep them solid and united for everl

COPENHAGEN, Nov. 9. The Lettish press bureau says the Letis on the fourth day of their new offensive are gradually developing General Bermondt and bombarding his lines of retreat with the assistance of the Allied fleet. German counter attacks were beaten off. Fighting continues most obstinately. Russian detachments with their officers are deserting to the Letts from Bermondt. The Letts are simultaneously successfully operating against the Bolsheviks to help General Yudenitch.

MANY ARRESTS-ALIENS TO BE DEPORTED.

WASHINGTON,. Nov. 9. The US. Government has decided to deport all aliens engaged in "Red" activities. The agents of the department of justice carried out a rald against agitators all over the country on Friday and arrested many. They seized much propaganda. 200 were arrested at the headquarters of the Russian Soviet in New York. A monster demonstration arranged by the "Reds" of New York yesterday was cancelled in fear of police interven tion.
