A Chinese was, before Mr. R. E Lincsell this morning charged with cutting, and wounding a girl.

It appeared that the defendant was an ex soldier of Generál Luk Wing Ting's army: He recently came down from Canton to stay with the girl, who was his concubine. After some time, he ordered the girl to supply him with money through immoral means. The girl refused, whereupon ahe was attacked by defendant, who afterwards attempted to commit sui cide. The girl was immediately sent to the Hospital.
