HUGHES & HOUGH,
In the days of car fathers and grand- fathers rheumatism was thought the un- avoidable penalty of middle life and old age. Everyone had rhegmatism after 40 or thereabouts; many bad it earli r.
Modern science has shown that rheumatism is not fas used to be thought) a more effect of cold and damp. It is a poison in the blood. With
good, red, pure blood.
man or woman of any age. can defy rheumatism, and rheumatism can be got rid of by killing the poison which causes it. There are many middle- aged people who have never felt a touch of rheumatisun, and elderly people who have conquered it by simply standing to the blood. The bleed-making and varilying effect of Dr. Williams pink pills for pale people, which are a blood- builder, not a purgative, is becoming every year more widely known, and it is the extended use of these pills which has robbed rheumatisat of its terrors. no matter how long you have been thus afflicted, no matter how great a bold the rheumatism has got upon your system, there is help for you in Dr. Wiliams pink pills. These pills have cured thousands of such cases even in its worst stages; why not yours? They are obtainable from your chemist, direct and post free, one bottle for $1.50, six for $8, from the Dr. Williams" Medicine Co., 90 Szechuan Road, Shang- 5. Begin your cure without delay-

which the engines were pût half and full ahead, but the collision could not be avoided. The substance of this case was that the Arena was at anchor and exhibiting Eer anchor lights a substantial time before the collision, and that at and before the collision the Arena had no steering way and the Oder, by want of look out and proper manoeuvre, failed to keep clear of the Avena. The de fendants' case was that at materjal times the Oder was coming up on a W. by S. course at a speed of 7 knots, following the Dora, which THIS disease is to dangerous, and do was about 13 length away and 14 rapid in its development that every mother of young children should point on the starboard bow that be prepared for it. It is very risky to the Dora altered her course to port wait until the attack of croup appears across the bows of the Oder; that and then send for medicine and let the the Oder to avoid her hard-aported child suffer until it can be obtained. and slowed; that as the Oder cleared and efectual and has never been known
Chamberlain's Cough Remedy is prompt the Dora's stern the Avena, showing to fail in any case. Always have a bottle two white lights at the stern, was in the home. For sale By All Chemists seen half a point on the port bow at and Storekeepers.. a' distance of 14 length; that the Oder was too close to reverse and the engines were stopped and the helm hard-aported; and that the Oder would have cleared the Arena but that the Avena came astern and struck the Oder and at the same time let go her anchor. The substance of this case was that the Asma was not at archor but was manœuvring. that the Dorn was between the Oder and the Arena concealing the Avena, that the Dura's manœtivre compelled the Avena to hard-aport, and when the Arena was seen the only thing to do was to keep hard-aport, and that would have been successful had not the Avena come asters. The main question of fact was, was the Avenz at anchor or was she ran | oeuvring, and did she come astern ? He was advised that the ́Avena's story of what she did was not a pro- bable or indeed a credible story. Had she dropped anchor for anything like sir minutes before the collision she must have got head to tide; she would have swung round very rapids ly. If she had dropped her anchor still heading to northward and west- ward and paid out 15 and another 16 fathoms there would have been na otcasion for her to have moved her engines once and again. She would swing round on her chain, and as she completed her swing her enginé movement would be ahead ratherthan astem. Further, he was advised that the damage to the Avena unquestion ably pointed to stern way on the Auna at the moment of impact and was quite inconsistent with a blow struck whilst the Avena's stern was swinging to starboard, and the Oder under hard-aport helm was swinging across the Arma's stern from port to starboard With the Aveng so swinging and the Oder hard sporting from a position on the Arend's star- board quarter it was very difficult to see how the collision should happen!)
