I have decided, therefore, to embody my views in a series of Jectures entitled How to get rich quick," and trust that all those who have been interested in my scheme will make a point of attending them. To this end I have made arrangements with the proprietor of the Cronet Theatre for the use of is all twice nightly for about half an-hour, when, as a relief from the unending round of gazettes, dramas and comedies that are shown there. I shall set forth. as graphically as am able, the various means by which my end is attained.. My. full course will be divided into fifteen die- monstrations, but I have so arranged it that each one of them may be attended and properly appreciated without any reference to the lessone that have gone before or those that come after.

Thanking you, sir, for the use of your valuable space.-Yours faith- fully,

One of the subsidiary good features of the Chinese Maritime Customs is its statistical department, whose yellow covered publications we always open with interest. We have just received the corrected list of light bouses, light-vessels, buoys and bea- cons on the coast and rivers of China. with a map. Seafarers, and even passengers, will find it interesting.
