The annual general meeting of the Hongkong St. Andrew Society was held in the City Hall, at 5.30 yesterday evening

Mt. R. M. Dyer (Vice President) presided, and there ware presont Messrs G. Gordon, T. F. Hough and Macdonald (Past Presidente)and Messrs A. O. Lang, R. Sutherland, W. Nichol seo, and J. Raid (Committee). Mr. M. Gordon (Acting Hon. Searstary). Mr. M. A. Murray (Hon. Treasurer), and large number of the members of the Society.

Hon. Secretary bad rend the notice convening the meeting and the minuten of the last annual general meeting:--

Mr. R. SUTHERLAND said he had much pleasure in proposing Mr. M. A. Murrar as Hons Treasurer for the ensuing year. M. Murray had done much excellent work for the Society, especially last year in connection with the Fair.

Mr. WALKER said he hut very much pleasure in seconding the Report. He was sure they all congratulated the President, vice President and members for their labours during the past year, which, as Mr. Dyer had just stated, has been one of great energy and they could ste by the accounts they were very busy. They would also, no doubt, like to convey their thanks to the Indies for the trouble they had taken. He noticed, too, that the worthy officiala had reserved a little money in band, so they were not quite bankrupt and bad. something left to go on with in future. He had much pleasure iù seconding the motion."

The motion was carried with applause. Mr. A. G. GORDON proposed that Mr. R. M. DYER be elected President for the ensuing year. (Applause).

Mr. DONALD MACDONALD said be had much plesatire in seconding. Ho was sure they all know of the great amount of work Mr. Dyer bad done for the Society since the time he became a member. He was untiring, and willing. st all times to assist in any way in the work of the society, and for the past year, he had carried out, in addition to other work, that of the President of the Society, owing to Mr.Anton having Jeft the Colony. Mr. Gordon therefore thought that in doing honour to Mr. Dyer in electing him President they were also doing justice to the Society. Mr. Dyor, being in the chair, the apeaker world nak the gentlembi present to rise up and join in the proposal to elect Mr. Dyer President for the ensuing

In retursing. thanks, Mr. DYER said be thanked them very much for the great honour they had done him in electing him President of the Society. Mr. R. SUTHERLAND, said he had only to express his gratitude for the honour they had conferred upon him.

The Committee deeply regretted to record the deaths of Messrs. G. W. F. Playfair, J. R. M. Smith, B. Murray Bafa, A. B. Bryson, N. G. Johnson, A. B. S. Millar, and John Paterson. Lieut. A. B. S. Millar was killed in action in France. Mr. G. W. F. Playfair was President of the Society from 1903/04 and Me. J. R. M. Staith from 1909/10

Thirty new members joined the Society during the year, and it is hoped members will continue to give their assistance by bringing forward new

A member of the Society who wishes to remain anonymous has very generously given 82,000 towards the relief of indigent, Scotsmen.
