age in a central place in that city, in addition to primary schools located

in five different parts of the city. It

will be the aim of this school to serve the needs of foreign residents of the provizee in so far as these needs ate not already being met by existing schools. This will be of interest to residents of Hongkong who are seek ing a school for their children.

The committee which is proposing these plans is made up of representa tives of the different faculties of schools for Chinese students in Can- There is a large group of men tom and" woman from America in charge of the education of Chinese in that city who can provide the expert supervision necessary for a successful schook.

The school for children from ten to fourteen will have a boarding school' in connection with it for the children of residents outside of Canton. Per- manent buiklings of first-class con struction will be put up as soon as the necessary funds are provided. It is estimated that a combination school house and dormitory will cost $11,000. The school will be conduct- ed along the lines of the successful Shanghai American school which has had several years' experience in thot city by which the local school will profit.
