This class was a voluntary one, held out of ordinary school hour, for such of our juniors as cared to attend at the 6Y.M.C.A., where Mr. Mohler took the subjects. I state this fact as a soull record of appreciation of bis unselfish efforts. The books are read as pure literary matter. Monil Tessons are deduced, just as they would be in the reading of any ordinary book care fully studied; but no dogma is taught. The class deserves encouragement if for no greater reason than that it brings the boys concerned under ordered control for the time being ORDER gives them an opportunity they would as to the stimulating approval which

ATHLETICS.In the last few years, Games and Athletics generally have advanced amongst our boys by giant strides. This is due, in large, men sure, to the frank encouragement given, year after year, by H.E. Sir F. H. May on our Prize Day, as well
not otherwise have of listening to the Hon. Colonial Secretary himself well-spoken English, for, it should be has elsewhere given to our players bore constantly in mind, that the on various occasions. Another great majority of our students hear, no contributory factor is that we now English spoken in their homes, and that the time during which they can exercise their care and their various arguns of speech for English is at lessons. Such extraneous classes, accordingly, are decidedly advan- tageous.
It does not seem out of place here to record the fact that during the past i three years, we have, from year to year, found it increasingly difficult to get the books needed, in. sufficient- quantity, and at the proper time: Our work has thereby been neces sarily hampered; in some cases seri-.. ously so. The difficulty will possibly be intensified next year. It will, however, come to an end when the war is over, and the seas once again open to unrestricted traffic.
In Class 3, with seven sections the largest Class in the school and containing as many boys as we have. in the entire Lower School-the total results can only be described de fairly good: 183 were examined, and 128 or 60 per cent. passed. Several sactions did very well indeed: thus C. 8 A had 56 per cent. passes and F. 8 A. 87 per cent. It is on entry into this class that boys begîn, to differentiate in their studies, and have to decide whether they will join the full sections leading up to matriculation and the Univer sity, or the Commercial section themselves for to fit
