It gives one pleasure to record the work of the Mothers' Union Branch of the City Hall Work Party, which meets at the Helena May Institute. The workers number about 30, and the weekly average, which has been kept all through the summer, has been 33 articles sent in-sometimes. the number rose to 60 and 70,
It has been brought before.us that some of the helpers Who have given us money to iure garments raide in their naine-it is not always conveni- ent, or possible, to do the actual work oneself are under the imprea-. sion that the work in all given out to Chinese tailors This is not the case. One tailor is employed who does the heavier pieces,.. byt, other- wise, as far as the money goes w employ capable women with good recommendations, who would other: wise be without work. We would, of course, be glad to spend the money in helping Englishwomen, but so far, only two have come to us. The rest have been Chinese, Portugues and Eurasian).
