The Pacific anticyclone has spread over south China and Annam, filling up the depression near Haiphong. A de pression covers the Gulf of Fechili, and tbers are indications that a depression is forming in the eastern extremity of the trough of relatively low pressure extending from south Annam to the east of the Philippines.

The tide table given below has been compiled at the National Almanac Office in London from the result of the analysis of observations taken by means of an

atic tide-recording machine in the Water Police Basin at Tsim Sha Tsui during the years 87-8-8.

The zero of the table correr nds with the zero of the sounding in the Admiralty Chart, which has been found to be a fost 3 inches below mean sea level.

To obtain the depth of water on the

tide guage at the Victoria Naval Yard add 3 foot 4inchoe, and on the gange xt Lamont Dock, Aberdeen, add 10 feet 4 inches to the height giren in the table.
