New Local and Non-Loes) Storm Signs Codes will be introduced st Hongkong on 1st July, 1917, in place of the old Local Code, and the Chine Coast Code.

The principal change in the Local: Code is that the new signals will show the direction from which, the gale is expected, whereas the old signals showed the position of the typhoon. The latter will be indicated, as hereto fore, by the Non-Local Signals. The new Loest Code is given below-
