AN OPIUM CASE.

A China, aged 30, out on a bail of $100 failed to appear this afternoon in answer-ta charge of being in possession of a bead of opium other than Government opium. The case was adjourned from a previous bearing to allow defendant to produce the man, who sold him the opium to prove that it was (from Government stock. The 1xhibition of pot plants and lowers was aimilar to previous years and comprised - fue collection. the dowers bearing charming blossom. Dahlias. and remo were among the more noticeable, and sweet2, peas were quite prominent.

The table decorations were not a good and subsequent ones in his private chapelas on former occasions and this section of at St. Paul College,
